With all the electronic media and games available these days, you might have forgotten about one of the best resources in your community...the public library. In fact, when was the last time you visited your local library? Once row upon row of books in racks, surrounded by deafening silence, today's library has morfed into a vital link between GrandBoomers and their grandchildren. Books are still a mainstay, but now you'll find large areas dedicated to music CDs, videos for everything from top films to "how-to-do-it" to games in formats from VHS to blue ray. And, one of the latest and most progressive, many libraries are now lending book downloads for readers like the Nook and Kindle! You receive a code and the book is downloaded on your device for a few weeks and then it disappears. The library is still a bargain. Rental fees, if any, are minimal. While you're there, check out the various programs and events on their schedule.
