GrandBoomers are close to or already retired by now...how quickly time passes. For many, it will mean a greater opportunity to travel. It may be a vacation, a visit to relatives, to attend an event. However, if you've been to an airport recently, you realize that the security lines can change your mood from excitement to dispair rather quickly. Fortunately the TSA now offers Pre Check. You can fill out an application online and also find a location near you for the final processing. The current fee is $85 and gives you five years of access to Pre Check check-in. Once you have a registration code, you provide that to your airline when purchasing a ticket. When you print out your ticket, it includes the words "Pre Check" at the top. Show this at the Pre Check area and you go right through.
We tried it recently and it was a pleasant experience not to have to remove shoes, belts, etc. What little line there was moved quickly. No need to unpack electronics.
