DIANE SAWYER FOR PRESIDENT

Let's face it. Americans need jobs. Americans are willing to work; to re-program themselves to qualify for jobs in new areas. The current crop of presidential candidates all provide lip service that jobs is their first priority. The administration has said the same. But none of these people has come up with a sure fire way to increase employment. Enter Diane Sawyer.  Sawyer and her staff did the research and found out that many items made in America were the same price or only slightly higher than imports.  She pointed out that if every contractor bought 5% more supplies made in America, it would create, I believe the figure was, 200,000 jobs. She ran a campaign to Buy American. She stood up for American workers and now the results are coming in.  Jobs are being created thanks to her initiative. These jobs are across the board, not just the so called "shovel ready" construction jobs funded by government grants. By emphasizing that we should look at labels and buy American made products when we can, Sawyer has generated jobs in a variety of industries, helping the economy grow exponentially. Could the politicians have done the same and gotten the ball rolling years ago? Absolutely. Democrats and Republicans alike should take a long look at Sawyer's strategy and build off of it.  And if Diane Sawyer ever decides to run for office...she has a vote here.
