It was with great happiness GrandBoomers traveled to Washington DC earlier this month for the Georgetown University graduation ceremony for one of our granddaughters. Last year we wrote about her undergraduate graduation from the University of Colorado and how impressed we were with the potential of the student body.
This year, the situation was very similar with one additional, very obvious, addition. As the names were called, it became increasingly clear that the graduates had come to Georgetown from all around the globe. It was a wonderful example of how the world continues to shrink and of the opportunity we all have to learn and embrace elements of the cultures of other countries.
The post-graduation reception was filled with happy chatter in a vast variety of languages...all exhuding the common element of happiness for the graduates. It was a wonderful experience and again, as with last year, we are reassured the future is in good hands.
